An unprecedented number of attendees crowded the exhibition hall at this year’s annual meeting. Exhibitors and sponsors reported record numbers of interested home care and hospice professionals crowding their booths.  The theme for the 27th Annual Meeting for the National Association for Home Care & Hospice in Fort Lauderdale, FL, "Charting New Frontiers in Health Care," was evident at the onset of the event. A record number of attendees accompanied the record 256 exhibiting companies on hand to help forge the way.
NAHC Innovation Award for Home Care & Hospice
 During the opening general session President Val J. Halamandaris announced the winner of the first annual Cerner BeyondNow Innovation Award for Home Care and Hospice, Baptist Home Health Network from Little Rock, AR. Making the presentation was sponsor Cerner BeyondNow's Senior Vice President for Client Works, John Landis.
Over 27 home health agencies and hospices submitted applications for the award.
Woodruff Praises Home Care and Hospice
 Veteran journalist and former anchor of CNN's Inside Politics, Judy Woodruff told attendees at the 27 th Annual Meeting of the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) to prepare for a historic presidential election this year. She expressed her gratitude and thanks to the home care and hospice community.
"These are the individuals who have made everything possible for Jeff," Woodruff said. "It's the reason that I so appreciate all of the work that all of you do."
CEO Leadership School
 Preceding the opening session at the CEO Leadership School, attendees got in touch with many of the best and brightest from other industries who shared the secrets of their success. Ann Rhoades, the founder and president of business strategy and leadership consultancy People Ink, led off the seminar, telling her NAHC audience of her experience with many of the benefits of the home care and hospice industry.
"I can tell you, what you do has affected my family so much," Rhoades said, pointing out that her mother now receives home health care services after having suffered a stroke. She likened home care and hospice professionals to missionaries.
